Community Sports Coach Level 4 Apprenticeship
Community Sport Coaches play a pivatol role in motivating and engaging people of all ages and abilities in community sports and physical activity settings. Community sport includes local authority, charity and national governing body of sport community initiatives or clubs.
This role is about more than just sport — it’s about shaping confident, active learners through high-quality development and performance experiences.
As a Community Sports Coach Apprentice, you will:
- Provide one-to-one and group support to learners to help them progress toward agreed goals
- Design and deliver coaching programmes that focus on sustainable engagement and enrichment of participants.
- Collaborate with the coaching team including assistant coaches, managers, sponsors, boards and wider industry support networks
- Use targeted approaches to deliver sport and physical activity
You will compile a detailed portfolio of evidence, showcasing your competency in real-world mentoring scenarios. This includes:
- Observations of coaching sessions
- Assignments detailing skills
- Coaching session plans
- Professional discussions
The programme culminates in an End Point Assessment (EPA) — a structured evaluation to confirm your professional competence and readiness.
