From Learner to Leader: Emma White’s Apprenticeship Journey
“It’s an accessible way of furthering your knowledge and feeling a great sense of achievement – whatever your role.”
— Emma White, Operations Manager at FareShare UK
Heart of England Training is proud to celebrate the success of Emma White, who recently completed her Level 5 Operations Manager Apprenticeship. Emma, who works at FareShare UK, took the bold step to continue her professional development after previously completing a Level 3 qualification – and hasn’t looked back since.
A Natural Next Step
Emma decided to enrol on the Level 5 programme to take her skills to the next level and position herself for future opportunities. “I wanted to expand my learning from a Level 3 I had done previously,” she explained. “I also wanted to further my career and gain more knowledge that I could apply in future roles.”
Her proactive approach to career development paid off, as the apprenticeship gave her both the confidence and practical knowledge she needed to grow in her role.
Support That Makes a Real Difference
Reflecting on her time with HOET, Emma had high praise for the quality of support she received. “The training was excellent. I really enjoyed the whole experience,” she said. “Regular meetings with Ben, my educator, were brilliant. He was always on hand between sessions to answer any questions I had by email or to check the progress of any work I sent across.”
Emma also appreciated the structure and relevance of the learning materials. “The workbooks were interesting and closely aligned to my role. I also received great support compiling my portfolio and preparing for the EPA (End-Point Assessment). I felt supported all the way through.”
Career Growth in Action
One of the highlights of Emma’s journey was receiving a promotion during her apprenticeship. “The learning has been hugely beneficial,” she shared. “It supported me through that transition and will continue to guide me in my current and future roles.”
Advice for Future Learners
Emma strongly believes in the power of apprenticeships to unlock potential. “It’s an accessible way of furthering your knowledge and feeling a great sense of achievement – whatever your role,” she said.
And would she recommend Heart of England Training to others?
“Absolutely,” Emma said without hesitation. “The support, structure, and real-world relevance made all the difference.”
