At Heart of England Training (HOET), we take great pride in supporting apprentices as they grow in skill, confidence, and capability. One such success story is Grace Carter, who has recently completed her Business Administration Level 3 apprenticeship while working with Northwood Leicester Estate Agents. Her journey reflects the impact a well‑supported apprenticeship can have—not only for the learner but also for the employer who gains a motivated, skilled, and business‑ready team member.
Choosing an Apprenticeship: Learning While Doing

Grace chose the apprenticeship route because it offered an ideal blend of practical experience and recognised qualifications. Reflecting on her decision, she explains:

“To learn on the job, acquire the skills and a qualification at the same time. It enabled me to get my foot in the door in the sector I was interested in.”

For employers, this mindset is exactly what makes apprenticeships such a valuable investment—bringing enthusiastic individuals into the business who are eager to grow and contribute from day one.

Training with HOET: Support That Makes a Difference

One of the core strengths of an HOET apprenticeship is the personalised support learners receive from start to finish. Grace describes her experience with HOET as overwhelmingly positive:

“It was really good; I had support throughout the entire apprenticeship if I had any questions or needed help. The day courses were enjoyable, sharing knowledge and experience with other learners on the same qualification.”

This blend of one‑to‑one support, structured teaching, and peer learning helps apprentices develop into well‑rounded professionals. For employers, it means that their apprentice is continuously developing the skills needed to contribute effectively to the business.

Building Skills That Strengthen the Workplace

Grace’s apprenticeship proved highly beneficial to her role at Northwood. By combining workplace training with structured learning, she developed a strong understanding of how the business operates:

“Learning the fundamentals of the business side & skills helped with learning how the business ran. Especially around dealing with stakeholders and communication styles.”

This ability to apply newly acquired knowledge directly to her role created real business value—enhancing communication, building confidence, and strengthening day‑to‑day operations.

Advice for Future Apprentices – and Employers

Grace’s message to anyone considering an apprenticeship is simple:

“Just go for it, it’s extremely beneficial… it grows your confidence with experience growing from the ground up and being in the role. Being exposed to the business and practical on‑the‑job learning really helped develop my skills quickly, applying the knowledge learned directly to the job.”

For employers, this reinforces the powerful impact apprenticeships can have. Apprentices gain real‑world experience quickly, and businesses benefit from team members who are learning, adapting, and contributing from the outset.

Why Choose HOET?

When asked whether she would recommend an apprenticeship with Heart of England Training, Grace didn’t hesitate:

“Yes definitely. The support is always available when you need it and it’s straightforward to enrol and undertake.”

At HOET, we work closely with employers to ensure apprentices receive clear guidance, ongoing support, and high‑quality training. This partnership approach is what allows success stories like Grace’s to flourish.
