This month, Heart of England Training turns the spotlight on Beth Peirce, a dedicated and passionate member of our Schools and Business team. Since joining us in March 2025, Beth has brought enthusiasm, warmth and a learner‑centred approach to her role — qualities that have quickly made her a valued part of the organisation.

A Role That Changes Every Day

Beth currently works as an Educator for Schools and Business, covering TA3, TA5, BA3 and SBP programmes. Her day‑to‑day work involves meeting learners, setting assignments, reviewing progress and supporting each individual through their journey.

Reflecting on her role, she explains, “I really enjoy the flexibility. There’s a responsibility to plan your own calendar, and I like being able to adapt my working style to what each learner needs.”

For Beth, the best part of her work is the variety. No two days look the same — and that’s exactly how she likes it.

From Creative Beginnings to a Career in Education

Beth’s path into education has been shaped by a blend of creativity and academic focus. Before joining HOET as an educator, she spent more than eight years working as a teaching assistant and completed her degree in Primary Education.

Her connection to HOET actually began long before she became part of the team. Beth once studied with us herself, completing the Hairdressing Level 2 full‑time course at the Rugby Academy. She remembers that time fondly, saying, “I loved the creative side of hairdressing, but I always had a passion for education.”

That passion ultimately guided her towards a career that brings together her strengths in teaching, supporting others and adapting to different learning styles.

“Because I was a student with HOET, I knew it was a good organisation. This role let me use the skills I’d developed both in my job and in my degree.”

Support, Collaboration and a Strong Team Environment

Although Beth works independently with her learners, she speaks highly of the support she receives from her colleagues. “The external educator Schools and Business team are always there for support,” she says.

She also acknowledges several individuals who have played a significant part in her development during her first year. “Shannon and Ben are always around for support,” she explains. “Meg, Alice and the other educators have been great in helping my understanding of the role.”

This sense of teamwork, encouragement and shared knowledge has helped Beth grow with confidence and settle quickly into her position.

Life Beyond the Classroom

Outside of work, Beth enjoys a quieter pace of life. She says, “I like reading, and I like watching series,” finding these simple pleasures a welcome balance to her dynamic working days.

Looking Ahead

As she nears her one‑year milestone with HOET, Beth is proud of how far she has come and optimistic about what lies ahead. Her commitment to her learners, her willingness to adapt, and her thoughtful approach to education make her an asset to the Schools and Business team.

We’re delighted to celebrate Beth in this month’s In the Spotlight, and we look forward to watching her continue to thrive within Heart of England Training.
