In the Spotlight: Natalie Davies – Supporting Apprentices with Passion and Purpose
“Apprenticeships offer priceless experience – it’s a privilege to be part of each learner’s journey.”
With over 15 years in the hair and beauty industry, Natalie Davies brings a wealth of experience, dedication, and heart to her role at Heart of England Training (HOET). Having joined the company 14 months ago, Natalie has seamlessly transitioned from salon life to supporting the next generation of hair professionals as an integral part of the Hair and Beauty team here at HOET.
A Career Built on Experience
Natalie’s journey began on the salon floor, where she developed her craft and eventually took on the role of salon manager. It was during this time she mentored an apprentice of her own – trained by none other than Heart of England Training. Now, the circle has come full, as Natalie plays a vital role in nurturing learners across the region.
A qualified hairdresser and trained barber, Natalie draws on her practical knowledge to offer real-world insight to learners and employers alike. Her role is both people-focused and industry-driven – a perfect balance that keeps her connected to the evolving world of hair and beauty.
Why Natalie Loves Working at HOET
It’s the people and the purpose that make HOET special for Natalie. She highlights the high standard of education delivered across the company, noting how apprenticeship training offers something traditional college courses often can’t – hands-on experience and industry relevance.
Natalie also credits the supportive and knowledgeable team around her:
“It honestly feels like a family. There’s so much experience between us – I know I can rely on my team for advice and guidance.”
She gives a special shoutout to Jess, Apprenticeship Account Manager, who she’s known since school – and to Sheila, the Hair and Beauty Manager, for her expert knowledge and strong leadership. Natalie also praises the educators, describing them as committed professionals who go above and beyond to help learners succeed.
Balancing Work and Life
When she’s not at work, Natalie stays active at the gym – but her biggest passion is being a mum to her three children. She especially enjoys supporting her daughter’s football journey and looks forward to her joining the Pro:Direct Girls Academy in the near future.
Driving Apprenticeship Success
At the heart of Natalie’s role is the drive to support every apprentice through to completion. She views success as a collaborative effort between HOET, the learner, and the employer – a partnership she works tirelessly to strengthen.
Natalie also plays a key role in promoting apprenticeship opportunities within the hair and beauty sector, helping salons recruit new talent and close skills gaps across the region.
