Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England are a licensed provider who offer expert advice and training to support mental health, in the workplace and beyond.
In September, members of our team attended an Online Mental Health First Aid course provided by MHFA England, learning in depth skills for providing first aid to people who may be experiencing mental health issues such as depression, anxiety and psychosis.
We are pleased to announce the following staff have achieved a Mental Health First Aid qualification:
- Shannon McCann – Human Resources Manager
- Riv Monsell – Apprenticeship Levy Manager
- Liam O’Connor – Head of Apprenticeships
- Matthew Barry – Marketing & Recruitment Director
- Rachel Timms – Training & Development Director
- Ben Jones – Team Leader/ Educator
- Jan Gibson – Safeguarding Lead/ Counsellor
Following their achievement, we asked for their thoughts completing the course.
Shannon McCann, Human Resources Manager at HOET, felt their instructor was informative, prompting plenty of questions and discussions across the group.
“Cathy did a fantastic job of sharing her knowledge and ensuring we were all heard and understood. I’ve gained more confidence to open up conversations and most importantly have the knowledge and toolkits to ask the correct questions and provide appropriate support. I would recommend this course to anyone!”.
Team Leader/ Educator, Ben Jones, added “The MHFA course was a great opportunity to look deeper into mental health. It has widened my understanding and given myself more confidence in how I can support my team and learners further”
You can speak to any of these qualified staff if you have any concerns about yourself or a colleague.
