Beauty Therapy is a worldwide growing industry. Beauty Therapy NVQs are set by HABIA (The Hairdressing And Beauty Industry Authority). Qualified therapists can enjoy opportunities in a wide variety of businesses, such as health farms, cruise liners, beauty salons, sports clubs or even teaching.
An Apprenticeship Standard in Beauty Therapy at Level 2 is a nationally recognised route into the beauty industry.
Course content
The Beauty Therapy Level 2 Apprenticeship course content includes: Facial treatments, Eyelash & eyebrow treatments, Waxing services, Applying make-up, Manicures & hand treatments, Pedicures & foot treatments, Basic massage treatments
Assessment
For the End-Point Assessment, you will complete a multiple-choice knowledge test (40 questions) within a 60-minute period. The second assessment is a practical observation where you will be required to source two models to demonstrate a range of services against industry standards and timings.
Earn while you learn
You will be paid a minimum of £4.81 per hour (the apprenticeship wage is reviewed in April each year). Apprentices do not pay for their training: an apprenticeship is government-funded (sometimes your employer will make a contribution to the course costs, depending on your age).
