Academy Manager at Racing Club Warwick Academy

This month’s In The Spotlight feature celebrates Anastasia Bainbridge, Academy Manager at the Racing Club Warwick Academy, and her inspiring journey at Heart of England Training (HOET). From educator to manager in under two years, Anastasia’s story is one of passion, persistence and purpose — with football at the heart of it all.

Meet Anastasia

As Academy Manager, Anastasia wears many hats — and she wears them well.

“My role involves teaching and supporting my staff with the delivery of BTEC, while making sure our learners are excelling both in education and football,” she explains.
“I also ensure the academy is maintained to a high standard across all areas.”

In short? She’s helping learners succeed in the classroom and on the pitch, while supporting her team to deliver the best possible experience every day.

A Day in the Life (Spoiler: No Two Are Alike!)

If you’re someone who loves routine… this role probably isn’t for you.

“On a day‑to‑day basis, I focus on teaching, recruiting and supporting my educators,” says Anastasia.
“No two days are ever the same, which keeps the role interesting and engaging.”

From mentoring staff to planning lessons and recruiting talent, each day brings something new — exactly how Anastasia likes it.

Nearly Two Years at HOET (and Counting!)

Anastasia has been part of HOET for 1 year and 11 months, but in that short time she’s made a huge impact — both professionally and culturally.

Her progress is a great example of how HOET supports development and believes in promoting talent from within.

From Educator to Academy Manager

Anastasia’s journey didn’t start in management — but it didn’t take long for her potential to shine.

“I started at HOET as an educator. At the time, I had just been narrowly beaten to a manager role,” she shares.
“Once I came in, I was given the opportunity to step up into the Academy Manager role, which I was over the moon to accept.”

Since then, she’s continued to grow in confidence, leadership and teaching expertise.

“I’ve developed both my leadership and teaching skills massively since stepping into the role.”

Why HOET?

So, what makes HOET such a great place to work?

“I enjoy working at HOET because of the supportive team environment and the opportunities to grow,” Anastasia says.
“Hard work is recognised, and there’s always something new to learn.”

Supportive, rewarding and forward‑thinking — it’s a combination that keeps people motivated.

The Best Bits of the Job

For Anastasia, variety is key — but impact matters most.

“I love the variety in my role and the chance to work with different people across the organisation and within the academy,” she explains.
“Knowing that the work I do has a real impact on learners and their future within sport is huge.”

Helping learners shape their future in football and education is what drives her every day.

Life Beyond the Academy ⚽🌍

When she’s not busy managing an academy, Anastasia makes the most of her downtime.

“I enjoy travelling, exploring new places, and spending time with my family and my animals,” she says.
“It helps me switch off and enjoy being outdoors.”

And football? That passion doesn’t stop at the working week.

“I also coach football on the weekends — it’s something I genuinely love.”

A Team Worth Shouting About

When asked who deserves recognition at HOET, Anastasia doesn’t hesitate.

“I’d like to mention the sport department as a whole,” she says.
“The support and teamwork have really helped me settle into my role and continue developing.”

A strong team makes all the difference — and it clearly shows.

Achievements She’s Proud Of...

Anastasia is passionate about developing herself as much as her learners.

“Completing my CIAVA course and starting both my CET and Team Leader apprenticeship are achievements I’m really proud of,” she shares.
“They’ve helped me grow not just as an educator, but as a manager too.”

Proof that learning never stops — no matter your role.

What’s the HOET Culture Like?

Collaborative. Supportive. Forward‑thinking.

“People are approachable, and there’s a strong sense of teamwork — especially within the sport department,” Anastasia explains.

It’s a culture that encourages growth, ideas and confidence.

A Fun Fact You Might Not Know…

Anastasia’s coaching journey started early — really early.

“When I was 14, I spent most evenings and weekends coaching,” she says.
“I was nominated by my football team for the Wiltshire FA Young Volunteer of the Year award — which I went on to win!”

She adds:

“My family and I were incredibly proud. It meant a lot to have my hard work recognised at such a young age.”

And honestly? That passion still shines through today.
