Heart of England Training is seeking an experienced education professional to join our Board of Governors as our dedicated Quality of Education Governor.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a background in education, training, quality assurance, inspection, leadership, or governance to help shape the strategic direction of a successful and growing independent training provider.
The successful candidate will provide constructive challenge and support to the Senior Leadership Team, helping to ensure that learners receive a high-quality educational experience and that standards continue to improve.
Heart of England Training is proud to be a Grade 2 Good provider, achieving learner achievement rates above national averages and consistently receiving excellent feedback from both apprentices and employers.
This is not an employed position but a paid governance appointment.
Responsibilities include:
- Attending four Board of Governors meetings each year at our Rugby Head Office
- Acting as the Board's designated lead for Quality of Education
- Attending some quarterly Quality and Curriculum Committee meetings annually
- Reviewing some educational delivery, learner experience and quality assurance activities on a quarterly basis
- Undertaking occasional visits to training centres and observing educational activity where appropriate
- Reviewing learner achievement, attendance, progress and destination data
- Supporting the Board in monitoring progress against strategic quality improvement priorities
- Providing constructive challenge and independent scrutiny of educational performance
- Feeding findings and recommendations into Board meetings to support effective governance
- Maintaining awareness of Ofsted requirements and developments within further education and apprenticeships
Essential
- Experience within education, training, further education, schools, apprenticeships, quality assurance or curriculum leadership
- Understanding of what constitutes high-quality teaching, learning and assessment
- Commitment to improving outcomes for learners and apprentices
- Ability to analyse performance data and identify key themes, strengths and areas for improvement
