Ian Williams, Customer Service Advisor at Stericycle, decided to take-on the level 3 management apprenticeship with Heart of England Training to develop himself in his career pathway, wanting to progress within the company.
“An Apprenticeship can and will help me gain the knowledge, skills and experience that is needed to move forward within the business.”
When asked on what he enjoyed the most about the apprenticeship, Ian found it beneficial using what he has learnt in the working environment.
“I have enjoyed meeting new people on the day courses, interacting and learning about other business and how skills can be adapted and changed across multiple business functions.”
Ian felt the apprenticeship training with Heart of England has been great, appreciating the available support given by his Educator as well as his line manager.
“The help from my Educator has been amazing and she is always there to help as much as possible” he said “The support has also been great from my line manager who is there to work with myself to undertake a team leader role when an opportunity arises.”
When asked what advice he would give to someone who is considering an apprenticeship, Ian said: “go for it!”
“It is a great opportunity, meeting others, learning new skills and being able to use these in the working life.” He added “I feel apprenticeships should be pushed out more to help develop anyone.”
