Level 4 Apprenticeship School Business Professional
Our School Business Manager apprenticeship is designed for professionals who oversee and coordinate the critical functions that keep a school running — from finance and HR to procurement and infrastructure. This is a nationally recognised Level 4 qualification, ideal for those already working in, or aspiring to move into, school business leadership roles.
As a School Business Manager Apprentice, you will:
- Lead on financial and operational management within a school setting
- Oversee human resources, procurement, marketing, and infrastructure
- Support senior leadership teams in turning business strategy into school-wide success
- Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and promote value-for-money decision-making
- Coordinate and manage support services critical to school performance and sustainability
Throughout the apprenticeship, you’ll build a portfolio of real-world evidence that demonstrates your skills, knowledge, and behaviours across all areas of the standard. Your experience will be supported through:
- One-to-one workplace visits
- Virtual learning modules (VLE)
- Live remote sessions with expert tutors
You’ll also complete a workplace project in two key areas (e.g. Finance, HR, Marketing, Procurement, Support Services, or Infrastructure), forming the basis of your End Point Assessment (EPA). The EPA includes a project report, presentation, and Q&A to validate your ability to perform the role at a high level.
