Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship
Our Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship course boasts an impressive distinction and pass rates —a testament to the quality of training and support we provide. Designed to equip you with essential knowledge, skills and behaviours, this programme prepares you to make a real difference in pupils’ learning and development.
As an apprentice, you could be working in:
- Primary, secondary, or special education settings
- Across various age ranges
- With pupils experiencing emotional vulnerabilities or special educational needs
You’ll support teachers in delivering lessons and guiding pupils—either one-to-one or in small groups—to:
- Understand tasks clearly
- Achieve learning objectives
- Stay focused and make meaningful progress
Promoting self-belief, high self-esteem, and social inclusion is at the heart of this role. You’ll help create a positive, safe environment where every child feels valued and supported.
Teaching Assistants play an active role in the classroom and wider school community. You’ll:
- Act as a role model with honesty and integrity
- Contribute to lesson planning and team meetings
- Support the promotion of Fundamental British Values through pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) Progression
Apprentices who complete the Level 3 Teaching Assistant Standard with us can take advantage of a 20% discount on our Level 4 HLTA qualification. The standard cost of the course if £650. For learners who have completed the Level 3 Teaching Assistant apprenticeship with us, we offer a 20% discount on HLTA progression: a 6-month Level 4 qualification for just £520.
This distance learning course is designed to equip TAs with the knowledge and skills to address challenges within the school environment and enhance their understanding of how to effectively support their students and colleagues. Read more about the course and the 7 key modules here.
