A Higher LevTeaching Assistant (HLTA) does all the things that regular teaching assistants do, but the biggest difference is the increased level of responsibility within the classroom. As a HLTA, you will be responsible for ‘stepping in’ if a teacher needs to be away from the classroom for a period and whilst a qualified teacher is sought toprovide cover. Through this course, you will develop an understanding of the knowledge required to support individuals and small groups and to support individuals with a range of additional needs.
