Receive up to £4,000 for recruiting an apprentice

The chancellor has increased and extended the incentive to £3,000 for each apprentice hire (regardless of age), which is in addition to the £1,000 provided for new apprentices:
  • aged 16 to 18 years old
  • under 25 with an education, health & care plan (or in the care of local authority)

This effectively means a payment of up to £4,000 for recruiting an apprentice.

You can use the payment for uniforms, your apprentice’s travel or their salary. You do not have to pay it back. You must set up an apprenticeship service account if you want to apply for an incentive payment (we can support you with this).
