Team Leader Level 3 Apprenticeship
Team Leaders and Supervisors are members of the first line management layer, who are responsible for team operations, projects and deliverables. The role involves providing direction, instruction and guidance to ensure that each objective is achieved.
No matter what sector you work in (whether it is the private, public or third sector), or what size of organisation you work in, the knowledge, skills and behaviours you need are the same.
Among the key tasks you will be expected to perform are to provide support, lead and develop a team; project management, plan and monitor workloads and resources; implementing operational plans; resolving problems and building relationships both internally and externally.
On completion, candidates can register as full members with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI); those with 3 years of management experience can apply for Chartered status through CMI.
Job titles may include: Supervisor, Team Leader, Project Officer, Shift Supervisor, Shift Manager and Foreperson.
Added Value – Charted Management Institute (CMI) Level 3 Diploma in First Line Management and Leadership
As part of this apprenticeship, learners will progress their professional development by working towards the CMI Level 3 Diploma. Apprentices will complete both the Team Leader Apprenticeship and the CMI Diploma over the 12 month period in which knowledge gained from the diploma will feed into apprenticeship course work.
The Diploma will deepen leadership knowledge which is strengthened by management theory, tools, and frameworks that broaden learner’s capabilities. This creates more confident, effective leaders who can apply both practical and strategic approaches to managing people and processes.
Learners will also become a student member of the CMI and gain access to the Management Direct Resources. Within this, you can find networks, tools, learning resources and publications.
