Operations Manager Level 5 Apprenticeship
As a management professional working in the public, private or third sector and across all sizes of organisations, key responsibilities may include:
- creating and delivering operational plans
- managing budgets
- leading and managing teams
- managing change
- financial and resource management
- talent management
- coaching and mentoring
On completion, candidates can register as full members with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI); those with 3 years of management experience can apply for Chartered status through CMI.
Job titles may include: Operations Manager, Regional Manager, Divisional Manager, Departmental Manager and Specialist Manager.
Added Value – Diploma In Management and Leadership Level 5
Alongside the apprenticeship, learners will complete a Chartered Management Institute (CMI) Level 5 diploma. To gain the knowledge to support completion, there are 8 day courses to attend, taking place every two months.
Learners will also become a student member of the CMI and gain access to the Management Direct Resources. Within this, you can find networks, tools, learning resources and publications.
The CMI Diploma further strengthens knowledge and skills by developing key leadership and management capabilities, including:
- Leading and motivating teams effectively in a range of workplace situations
- Embedding equality, diversity and inclusion practices across the organisation
- Managing stakeholder relationships and expectations with confidence

- Planning, delivering and evaluating successful projects
- Navigating and implementing change within the workplace
- Producing and executing operational plans to ensure smooth and efficient business operations
- Understanding strategic approaches to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and sustainability

The four remotely-delivered Day Courses cover the knowledge elements that underpin the Apprenticeship Standard. The course and content has been designed specifically to allow for flexible enrolments with rolling day courses.
