Associate Project Management With Andrzej Paszek
Andrzej has recently completed his Associate Project Management Level 4 Apprenticeship with Heart of England Training. Upon his completion he has come back to give us some wonderful feedback about his journey with us. Andrzej went in to depth on his story. Where he started, and where he is now, and more importantly how he got there.
“Becoming a Project Manager has been a goal of mine for quite some time. However, as we all know, life doesn’t always go as planned. After graduating from university, I found myself taking on various roles in general and operational management.”
He also told us that although these roles provided him with financial stability and a steep learning curve, it wasn’t the career path that he truly wanted.
Andrzej currently works with Agena Group. As one of the leading providers of parking and software solutions, Agena Group unite technology and talent to go beyond parking. They aim to positively impact clients and customers alike with unparalleled experience, whilst unlocking unrivalled data and powerful insights to inform the future.
“The day came when I decided it was time for a change. I spoke with my line manager about my aspirations. To my delight, he fully supported my decision and suggested that I speak with the head of our department to see if there were any suitable roles within the organization that I could take.”

Learner Feedback
Andrzej went on further to discuss his apprenticeship journey with us. He told us that during the process of starting his qualification, he discovered an opening for a PMO analyst within his group, which included an opportunity to undertake an apprenticeship.
“This role perfectly aligned with my career goals and aspirations. I was excited to transition into the PMO Analyst role and finally be on my way towards becoming a Project Manager.”
Overall he described his apprenticeship as an ‘Incredible Journey’. Providing him with a wealth of knowledge, skills and behaviours that he could directly apply into his new role. He also said that it felt like a genuine opportunity to learn from professionals, both within his role and through the apprenticeship itself. Andrzej said that the part he enjoyed most about his apprenticeship was the chance that he had to upskill whilst being surrounded by talented individuals who were also eager to share their experiences and knowledge.
“The best advice I can give is to ensure you are ready to commit fully. Otherwise, it won’t produce any value. Reflecting on my journey, I was thrilled when I heard the news about getting the role and immediately started imagining how amazing it would be. So, if you are considering an apprenticeship, make sure it is truly what you want to pursue before deciding that this is the path you want to take.”
“At the end of the day this is timely commitment. Additionally, once you’re on the course, make sure you stay on top of everything that is happening. Doing things in a structured way and not leaving everything until the last moment is crucial. This approach will give you enough time to learn and then apply what you’ve learned later.”
Heart of England Training Feedback
Andrzej was more than appreciative of the support and training that we have given him throughout his apprenticeship. He has given us some amazing feedback on the training team and group of educators and employers that he had supporting him from start to finish.
“There is nothing negative I can say about Heart of England Training. From the very beginning, everyone was clear about the structure and delivery of the apprenticeship. Most of the credit goes to Fleur Grewcock, my educator. Her approach to teaching and dedication to her work were outstanding.”
“It’s rare to meet someone who can motivate you, treat you as a friend, and still maintain the professional relationship required between an apprentice and an educator. My journey with HOET was truly great because of Fleur.”
To end Andrzej’s story on an even higher note, he gave us a little bit more feedback and really went the extra mile with it!
“I would definitely recommend doing the apprenticeship. It provided me with an opportunity I thought I would never have, meaning transitioning into it without any previous knowledge of the field or project management at all! How amazing is that? If anyone is considering a career change, this is a fantastic way to do it. You will have the chance to upskill while still being financially stable due to the full-time role that comes with the course.”
Congratulations once again Andrzej on completing your apprenticeship!
