Associate Project Manager Level 4

Projects can be defined and delivered within different contexts, across diverse industry sectors. They can be large or small and every project needs a Project Manager to ensure its success.

An apprenticeship standard in Associate Project Management at level 4 is a nationally recognised route to a wide variety of management professions. The standards and assessment plans that candidates work towards are set by a number of big employers including the Rolls Royce, Lloyds Banking Group, Royal Mail, Transport for Great Manchester and many more.

Candidates will compile a portfolio of evidence demonstrating occupational knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSB). The portfolio is required to be presented in a presentation during the end point assessment (EPA). End Point Assessment (EPA) is the name given to a series of tests a candidate must take at the end of a course to prove their ability to do the job they have been training for. As candidates are required to demonstrate occupational skills and knowledge; employers should ensure that they are involved in projects with a broad scope to address the chosen learning areas. We will support candidates with one-to-one workplace visits, remote sessions and 8 mandatory training courses to provide and embed the knowledge required to achieve a mandatory Level 4 Project Management Qualification (PMQ). Note that this Apprenticeship Standard is being run as a cohort to fall in line with the mandatory day courses.

If you work more than 16 hours per week you will probably be eligible to take this funded course with the support of your employer. Contact us to find out more.

APM Day Courses

The Day Courses for Associate Project Manager Level 4 are delivered remotely and focus on the knowledge elements of the apprenticeship curriculum. Having recently gathered some constructive feedback from the current APM cohort regarding our Day Courses, we have implemented two key changes:

  1. Instead of monthly full-day sessions, we are now running two half-day sessions (with effect from March 2022)
  2. We have introduced several new facilitators to maintain a varied and textured Day Course delivery

Testimonials from previous candidates

Since studying the APM4 I have developed strongly within my working role as a project manager and this in turn has increased my confidence. I am able to coach and mentor my peers within my team and have a structured approach to project management. I have also developed tools for my organisation, and am supporting them to take on Project Management Methodologies to benefit the organisation as whole. (Former learner)

Associate Project Management Apprenticeship Vacancies

Because of the level and nature of the role, it is often the case that existing project managers seek-out this qualification as a means of gaining recognition for the work they are already doing. If you’re a project manager looking to achieve a recognised qualification, or an employer of project managers considering options for training, upskilling and certification,
