Nicole McCormack began her Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship with Heart of England Training to gain deeper knowledge regarding working with, and supporting children in a learning environment. Once achieving the qualification, she believes that she will gain the skills, knowledge and behaviours to be a successful Teaching Assistant.
When asked what she enjoyed the most about the apprenticeship, Nicole said she enjoys taking part in the day courses, as well as the one-to-one sessions with her Educator.
“She is always extremely supportive and motivating” she added “her clarity and communication is excellent, and I feel as if I am making progress every time we cover a topic”
Nicole has found her apprenticeship training to be an ‘incredibly positive’ and ‘insightful’ experience.
“You have the chance to gain hands-on experience whilst learning at the same time. You also benefit from a fantastic support system to access information that will help you to develop your skills”.
When asked what advice she would give to someone considering an apprenticeship, Nicole said “Keep working hard and try to go that extra mile”
“Also…’ she added ‘always listen to your tutor”.
