Hairdressing Apprenticeship
Hairdressing Apprenticeships are the nationally recognised route to becoming a qualified hairdresser. The standards that you work towards are set by HABIA – The Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Authority.
There are over 180,000 hairdressers in the UK and this is growing all the time.
Where will I train?
You can train either on a day release programme at one of our training centres in either Birmingham, Coventry, Leicester or Rugby or in your own workplace within the East and West Midlands area, where one of our trainers will regularly visit you.
An apprenticeship standard in Hairdressing at level 2 is a nationally recognised route into the Hairdressing industry.

End Point Assessment Information:
The EPA process will provide a “snap shot” holistic assessment of practical skills which is similar to an industry trade test. The candidate’s consultation skills, communication skills, safe working practices, professionalism, values and behaviours will be assessed by a practical observation and oral questioning which will focus on the candidate’s completed consultations on two models ensuring they have identified clients wishes, adapted their advice to take into account the factors limiting or affecting services and taken into account all hair characteristics.

End Point Assessment Information:
The EPA process is made up of 3 assessments; a knowledge test, observation and questioning/professional discussion. This will be sat in our Academies in a controlled environment. The observation and questioning will take 5 hours and maybe split into discrete sections over the course of one day. The learner must complete a precision cut and finish from their personal collection of hairstyle looks, chosen by the client. They must then complete an advanced creative colour conversion on previously coloured hair followed by questioning and a professional discussion.

The apprenticeship is usually full time employed with a local employer.
Will I get paid?

Rebecca
Hair Apprentice Level 2, Lanza Hair Design
“I’m now a stylist at a very busy salon after recently qualifying at Level 2 with Heart of England Training in Leicester. Heart of England Training worked really well for me as I trained in the salon with my manager and had my Educator from Heart of England Training came into the salon and observed and supported with practical and theory. It helped build up my confidence in the working world and gave me an insight into completing my own models in the salon

“HOET are absolutely amazing, I would recommend them to anyone, end of lesson we always sit down and discuss what we have learnt and what we will be doing next week.
I’ve had personal situations and the team at HOET have been amazing and understanding.
Well done to Sheila and the team.”
