This occupation’s role is to support individuals and groups to aid their learning and development towards agreed goals. During the mentoring process, Learning & Skills Mentors will provide collaborate with stakeholders to provide an inclusive experience that meets the needs of the mentee, whilst remaining committed to professional development and reflective practice.

A Level 4 Learning & Skills Mentor apprenticeship standard is a nationally recognised route to a wide variety of school and training/development professions.

Candidates will compile evidence demonstrating occupational skills, knowledge and behaviours; underpinning the confidence and competence gained in all aspects of the standard. The portfolio will demonstrate exemplar practice by the candidate and will include observations, a reflective log and development plan including 360° feedback and self-assessment. End Point Assessment (EPA) is the name given to a series of tests an apprentice must take at the end of an apprenticeship to prove their ability to do the job they have been training for.
