Recruiting apprentices is a great way to expand your team, safe in the knowledge that they learn everything they need to know, the right way. Nowadays, recruiting apprentices is widely appreciated as a great way to expand your business, and apprenticeship incentives make recruiting apprentices even easier. To find out more about apprenticeship incentives, carry on reading below.
What are apprenticeship incentives?
From April this year, the government has increased incentive payments for businesses hiring a new apprentice. In addition to the £1,000 employers already receive from hiring an apprentice (aged 16-18 or aged 19-24 with an EHC plan), companies can now receive £3,000 for new employees of any age who have started their apprenticeship from 1 April 2021 to 30 September 2021.
The apprenticeship incentive is designed to support any incurring costs your organisation may have as a result of hiring an apprentice. This could cover anything from uniform for your apprentice, to their travel expenses or salary. And, because this is an apprenticeship incentive, you don’t need to pay it back!
Who is eligible?
Any business is eligible to apply for the apprenticeship incentive, but you may only apply for apprentices who join your organisation between 1 April 2021 and 30 September 2021.
Why should I consider an apprenticeship incentive?
Since the introduction of the apprenticeship levy on businesses with a pay bill of over three million, there is much more money available for funding apprenticeships. An apprenticeship incentive makes employing an apprentice even easier and, with the right training, you could find that you end up with a highly skilled and passionate worker for your team.
At Heart of England Training, we specialise in a wide range of apprenticeships, from management apprenticeships to business. Find out more about our apprenticeships and apply for an apprenticeship incentive before the date expires.
