At Heart of England Training, we’re proud to work with employers who are passionate about investing in people and creating opportunities for the next generation. One employer doing exactly that is Haus of Beaute, a successful beauty salon that has seen first-hand how apprenticeships can help businesses grow while developing talented professionals for the future.
Watch our chat with learner, Isabella and salon owner Senay to hear about their experiences with HOET and with apprenticeships. Or read on below.
Investing in Future Talent
Salon owner Senay has welcomed apprentices into her business for several years and understands the value they bring. For her, apprenticeships aren’t simply about filling vacancies. They’re about developing motivated individuals, helping them gain confidence, and building a skilled team that can grow alongside the business.
“We’ve worked with a number of training providers over the years, but Heart of England Training has been the best by far,” said Senay. “The support and communication are excellent. We always know what’s happening, and there’s someone there whenever we need advice or guidance.”
Isabella's Apprenticeship Journey
One apprentice who has flourished at Haus of Beaute is Isabella, who joined the salon after completing a full-time beauty course. While she had gained valuable knowledge during her studies, she wanted more hands-on experience and the opportunity to learn in a real salon environment.
An apprenticeship provided the perfect next step.
“I felt like there was still so much more to learn,” said Isabella. “The apprenticeship allowed me to continue my training whilst gaining experience with clients and working alongside experienced beauty professionals every day.”
“I particularly enjoyed learning how to create new styles and developing my cutting skills. I also really enjoyed meeting clients from different backgrounds and being able to make people feel good and more confident about themselves.”
Building Confidence and Skills
Since beginning her apprenticeship, Isabella has developed new technical skills, grown in confidence, and progressed into full-time employment. She is now looking forward to expanding her expertise even further by training in additional treatments and continuing her career development within the industry.
“The apprenticeship has helped me become much more confident,” Isabella explained. “I’ve learnt so many new skills, met lots of different people and become more comfortable being myself. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone considering an apprenticeship because it opens so many doors.”
Supporting Business Growth Through Apprenticeships
For Haus of Beaute, Isabella’s success is exactly why apprenticeships are such an important part of the business. By investing in learners from the start of their journey, the salon can develop staff who understand the company, share its values, and have the skills needed to succeed long-term.
This approach not only helps learners build rewarding careers but also supports the salon’s continued growth by creating a loyal and highly skilled workforce.
Advice for Other Employers
Senay’s advice to other employers considering an apprentice is simple:
“Just go for it. You can’t lose anything by having an apprentice. The value they bring to your business is invaluable.”
