This hands-on course is the ideal first step into the world of early years education. Starting September 2025 at our Rugby Academy – Temple Buildings, Railway Terrace, Rugby, CV21 3EN, this qualification will give you the knowledge, experience, and confidence to work in nurseries, pre-schools, and other childcare settings. This programme is designed for student aged 16-19.

The TQUK Level 2 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner (RQF) is a recognised childcare qualification that prepares you to support babies and young children from birth to 5 years, while gaining an understanding of development up to age 7.

You’ll learn how to create safe, supportive, and engaging environments for children, develop communication and play-based learning skills, and gain insight into child development, wellbeing, and safeguarding.

Start Date: September 2025

Duration: One academic year

Assessment: Portfolio-based with practical observations and written assignments

Entry Requirements: No formal qualifications needed, but an interest in working with young children and a good level of English and maths will help. You will be required to hold a valid DBS certificate for the work experience part of your course.
