How is this award delivered?
Entirely online, you can complete this distance learning course at your own pace, in your own time and from the comfort of your own home. There are 7 modules to complete using our online virtual learning environment in addition to the submission of assignments.
A Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) does all the things that regular teaching assistants do, but the biggest difference is the increased level of responsibility within the classroom. As a HLTA, you will be responsible for ‘stepping in’ if a teacher needs to be away from the classroom for a period and whilst a qualified teacher is sought to provide cover. Through this course, you will develop an understanding of the knowledge required to support individuals and small groups and to support individuals with a range of additional needs.
