Harvey Bannister-Smith, Sales & Marketing Administrative at Zerographic Systems Limited, decided to do an apprenticeship in Marketing to gain a qualification, whilst also receiving first-hand experience in the workplace.
“This apprenticeship will put me in a great place for the future as I have not just learnt the theory side of things” he said “I’ve learnt how to apply that theory to everyday work.”
Harvey felt that working in a great team, whilst doing a course he is knowingly interested in, has definitely helped him enjoy his apprenticeship.
“I feel like I’m always learning and progressing while also being treated like a valued member of the team.”
Harvey’s experience with Heart of England Training
Harvey found that his training with Heart of England has been excellent so far, feeling that their support has been faultless, offering a helping hand at every opportunity possible.
“They have created a friendly environment for me to work and thrive in, while also providing professional knowledge sessions that are helping me progress on my course.”
Harvey’s top piece of advice
When asked what advice he would give to someone who is considering an apprenticeship, Harvey said; “Just be yourself’
“Stepping into a new place of work, committing to a course can be daunting, but being authentic is important to settling in and really establishing yourself at that company.”
He added that he would recommend anyone to take-on an apprenticeship, as he felt that they were unique.
“You receive a recognised qualification, while simultaneously gaining first-hand experience in a workplace, and get paid for it. It’s the perfect way to kickstart your career.”
