Amelia Kerber joined Heart of England training just over a year ago in 2022. Her role within the company is a National Apprenticeship Account Manager. Amelia’s role involves working closely with schools around England, advising and guiding them through apprenticeships and how they can benefit their school.

The Apprenticeship Account Manager role involves:

  • Educating schools about Levy funding
  • Working with her accounts and checking in with them regularly
  • Enrolling new learners onto their apprenticeship
  • Making sure employer expectations are met

In addition to this, Amelia will also follow-up when learners have finished their qualification with us to offer information, advice and guidance on what their next steps could be.

To achieve this in the most effective way, Amelia told us that she will “continue to have regular check ins and meetings scheduled with her learners and employers to ensure that they are comfortable with their course, and the quality of education remains consistent.”

Amelia works closely with many of the teams here at Head Office, including Education and Marketing. Amelia is passionate about seeking new opportunities with new schools that she would like to work with, she is very pro-active and utilises her LinkedIn profile as a great way to network.

Amelia gave a background into what made her pursue this career,

“After successfully completing my A Levels, I was looking to go into something more career orientated, particularly based around schools, and the overall education sector. When I received the opportunity to work with Heart of England Training, I felt that it was right for me as by having this role, I was able to work alongside schools, as I had hoped to do, all the while not being directly placed in them.”

Amelia went on to add, “Since settling into my role as an account manager, I have sought out the opportunity to learn more about sales, relationship management and general administration. I have learnt the importance of etiquette whilst working within a business of this nature.”

Whilst Amelia has obtained quite the busy lifestyle here at HOET, she also likes to keep her hobbies in check outside of working hours, taking up activities such as crocheting and frequently attending the gym and swimming regularly to keep her health and fitness in check. But that isn’t all!

“The majority of my spare time is taken up by my 2 year-old Labrador; Buddy. I take him on a lot of adventurous walks here and there and enjoy spending most of my time with him.”

Amelia finished with some of her favourite things about her job role at Heart of England Training.

“I really love the people that I work with in the office. They create a very nice atmosphere where everyone is free to share their opinions. No two days are the same.”

“I really appreciate that I have full ownership over my own work, I can follow my own processes and I also enjoy working with my schools and having the opportunity to see the impact that I am making on the individuals. I enjoy my involvement in the education sector and being able to treat everyone as an individual person and support them in way that will suit them.”
