Learner Feedback

Samantha Marriott has been a valued colleague at Xylem Water Solutions since 2008, completing various roles throughout the business. She has received an outstanding result upon completing her Level 3 Team Leader and Supervisor Apprenticeship  with Heart of England Training.

Samantha told us that she became a Team Leader  October 2021 after a 6-month probationary period, but she hadn’t taken any specific courses for this role despite having previously completed an NVQ in Business Administration.

“I was made aware of the apprenticeship course through my HR Department at the end of 2022 and approached my manager to see if I could participate.

The Team Leader Level 3 Qualification

Team Leaders are members of the first line management layer,  responsible for team operations, projects, and deliverables. The role involves providing direction, instruction, and guidance.

No matter what sector you work in (whether it is the private, public or third sector), the knowledge, skills, and behaviours you need are the same.

Among the key tasks you will perform are to…

  • provide support
  • lead and develop a team, project management
  • plan and monitor workloads and resources, implementing operational plans
  • resolving problems and building relationships both internally and externally

Samantha continued on to tell us about how much she has enjoyed her apprenticeship from start to finish.

Heart of England Training Experience

“I enjoyed the interaction with my educator, Donna Parnell, her support and help was invaluable. I also enjoyed the day courses; they were really helpful and kept the course interesting.”

After going into detail about her apprenticeship journey with Heart of England Training, Samantha gave some advice that she would give to someone else that was looking to do an apprenticeship.

“Completing an apprenticeship is a great way of developing your skills whilst also developing your self-confidence within your role. I would definitely recommend doing an apprenticeship with Heart of England Training.”
