Sareena works at Castle Wood School which is primary school that caters for children with a primary diagnosis of Autism (ASD). She has recently received a distinction in Business Administration with Heart of England Training and told us that before she began her apprenticeship she had little experience in business administration.

Sareena said, “Going down the apprenticeship route is a good way to expand my knowledge and gain experience at the same time and would also be a good way to get into this field of work with no experience.” She also went on to add that she knows that when applying for jobs that employers look for experience, and this apprenticeship was a great opportunity for her to learn on the job.

What to expect from a Business Administration Apprenticeship?

Business Administrators have a highly transferable set of knowledge, skills and behaviours that can be applied in all sectors. Our apprenticeships are suitable for school leavers looking to start their careers and those already working in a role who want to gain an industry related qualification. An apprenticeship standard in business administration at level 3 is a nationally recognised route due to a wide variety of office professions.

Our Business Administration Apprenticeship is a 19-month programme which include remote day courses to help you gain the knowledge needed for End-Point assessment. Our educators will work with you throughout your entire qualification up until you sit your EPA.

The end goal for learners studying an apprenticeship/full time course with us is that they will enter gateway after being with us for just over a year and will then proceed on to their EPA (End Point Assessment). This can often be quite a daunting process for some learners and that is why we offer all the support that we can via our educators who will hold one to one sessions with their learner as well as keeping tabs on each bit of progress that the learner makes.

Learner Feedback

Sareena talked about her experience working with HOET and mentioned “When entering gateway my educator was there to offer extra support, one to one sessions and check over my project presentations to see if there was anything else I could add. I really could not have passed without all the help and support from my educator!”

Sareena continued to talk about how she found the training and day courses which are an essential part of the learning process within this apprenticeship. Sareena said that she found each day course very interesting as well as being easy to understand and follow. She also added that, “I felt that I was able to take a lot away from the day courses that I attended which meant I could then implement the information gained into my current job role.” She also spoke about how this helped her implement links to real life examples in her assessments as well.

Sareena spoke highly of her Educator and found that “regular one to one sessions and progress reviews were helpful to making sure I was on track with both my work and off the job hours. From the beginning my educator was brilliant. She was always there to offer help and guidance when needed and was always quick to respond to my queries.”

When asked would you recommend an apprenticeship with HOET she said,

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my apprenticeship with HOET. All of the teaching that I have received was high quality and the support I have been given throughout has been amazing. I couldn’t fault HOET and would recommend to anyone thinking of completing an apprenticeship.”

Congratulations to Sareena on your distinction, a huge well done from all of the team!
