Nicole works at Mount Stewart School and has recently passed her Teaching Assistant level 3 apprenticeship with Heart of England Training, and she received a distinction.

Nicole discussed with us why she chose to complete and Apprenticeship: “I choose an apprenticeship because I wanted to gain a fully recognised qualification whilst also having the experience of being in the classroom.”

The Teaching Qualification

The Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship consists of various factors and requirements that the learner needs to meet. We are currently the number one provider for Teaching Assistant Level 3 Apprenticeship Course in England. With over half of our learners achieving a distinction level when they finish. This course is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and behaviours to understand pupil’s learning and development, support assessment and add value to education.

The role of the Teaching Assistant is to support the class teacher to enhance pupils learning either in groups or individually, ensuring pupils understand the work set, know their learning objectives, and stay on task in order to make progress.

Nicole mentioned that she received excellent support and care throughout her journey with us.

“The day courses were thorough and engaging, whilst also being challenging enough to help me build confidence in the knowledge that I had learnt.” She also added “The support from my educator assisted me to map through a process that enabled me to manage my time and make the course work for me personally.”

Nicole found her educator was thorough in her teaching and mentoring and always made sure she had all the criteria covered. Which she added that “I felt very ready and happy once the time came for me to meet the end of point assessor.”

“This apprenticeship has played an integral part in developing my skills, knowledge, and behaviour. It has certainly prepared me not only for my current role of Teaching assistant, but also for the next step in becoming a qualified teacher.”

To finish Nicole said, “I would definitely recommend an apprenticeship with HOET.”
