We are pleased to be rated ‘Good’ following our inspection taking place in March.

The full report was published recently and contains some very strong praise –

Strong & supportive

The report talks about how much learners do enjoy their education and training, motivating them to achieve their best;

“Learners study in high-quality teaching facilities in the hair, beauty and sporting academies. Learners are inspired to work to a high level in environments that meet industry standards.”

Staff support each learner effectively, dealing with concerns ‘swiftly and confidently’, enabling them to feel safe in the academies and in the working environment.

“Learners develop their confidence and become more independent as they progress through their course. Apprentices gain the skills they need to become competent in their job roles.”

Inclusive leadership

The inspectors saw ‘strong and inclusive’ leadership from Senior Leaders, providing good-quality education and training for both young people and apprentices.

“Leaders carefully select additional qualifications to improve apprentices’ understanding and to make them more deployable in their employers’ businesses.”

With the support of governors, leaders have also invested in additional staff and technologies, having planned their growth well.

“They have maintained the quality of education through the effective use of management information, careful recruitment of staff, and high-quality professional development and training.”

A safe space

Leaders have developed a strong safeguarding culture, extending it to all its academies. They ensure all staff are appropriately trained, including those with subcontracted provision.

“They understand and are alert to local issues such as county lines and forced marriage. They take issues around sexual harassment and peer-on-peer abuse seriously.”

Meanwhile at the academies, learners have also been provided a comprehensive range of workshops and guest speakers, allowing them to get involved in topics that are appropriate to what they are studying.

“Online gambling, mental health and online safety are made relevant…Young learners can talk with maturity about these important topics.”
