In 2017, the UK Government introduced the Apprenticeship Levy to create 3 million apprenticeships in England by 2020. Whilst traditionally aimed at graduates and school leavers, the perception of apprenticeships is changing, with employers investing to train their existing staff.

Many employers are providing apprenticeships for new managers, to help them get the right skills in line with industry standards. Our Management level 3 and level 5 apprenticeships are suitable for aspiring managers looking to progress in their chosen industry.

What are the benefits?

Investing in in-house talent shows a genuine interest in your current staffs’ professional development in the workplace, while actively developing them to meet your exact needs.

Benefits can include:

  • Improved quality & productivity
  • Increased employee satisfaction
  • Relevant skill development
  • Fresh new perspectives

Emma Campbell, Customer Service Team Leader at Stericycle, expressed that she felt apprenticeships are a crucial way for an employee to progress within a business.

“I started my role with the company as a team member and I have internally progressed which has been a positive journey, but it has also had its challenges.” She said “I want to share my experience and knowledge with someone within my team.”

When asked how an apprentice has benefitted her, she added; “It has been refreshing to hear how an apprentice would handle certain situations as it may help the way I approach things, it has also benefitted me in terms of having someone there to assist with activities I may not have had the time to complete.”
